Home garden office décor ideas – how to style your garden office

When decorating a home office and thinking about both garden office interior design and the products you need for a comfortable home working environment, it’s important to balance the practical elements with products that will make your room look super stylish.

Here are 5 ideas for styling a home office.

1. Control natural daylight and provide privacy with window blinds

If, like with some of our office pods, your home office space has lots of natural daylight - which will help to keep you alert, focused, and give you a boost of Vitamin D – an important consideration will be window blinds to provide shade from the sun’s glare, particularly if your room is south facing.

Our top tip includes choosing window blinds that fit perfectly with bi-fold doors. InTu Micro Blinds are designed to fit seamlessly within the frames of modern windows and bi-fold doors. They’re built with an intelligent tension system that is anchored to the bottom of the frame. Intu® blinds are also one of the safest options – with no loose cords, they are ideal for those with young children and pets, and as they fit inside the window or door frame you can have doors open without blinds flapping around in the breeze.

Similarly, top-down, bottom-up blinds that fit into frames and offer the ultimate light control where it’s needed are a great option. Window blinds like these will help with climate control in your new garden office – which if it’s south facing will be important in the summer months.

2. Look after your posture with a comfortable yet stylish office chair

Ergonomic office chairs probably offer the best support for your back and neck, but if you’re looking for a statement chair then a chic round chair will deliver an on-trend look for 2022 – it also works well to juxtaposition the edges of a rectangular office desk.

3. Stash paperwork away with stylish storage

While many of us attempt to operate paperless offices, it’s not always possible to just have a few office items on show, so storage is important. Under-desk drawers can look neat and are a great way to hide paperwork and files, or a wall of shelving with stylish storage boxes can be used to display more interesting items and accessories.

4. Accessorise your space with lots of greenery and mirrors

Two trends for 2022 that work exceptionally well in garden offices are large round statement mirrors and lots of plants – whether they’re real plants or the hyper-realistic faux plants available to buy in most interior stores.

5. Soften the area with a rug

Adding a shaggy or faux fur rug to a workspace creates added warmth and texture during the winter months. During the summer, why not consider an indoor/outdoor rug – these work well when you have the doors open, and you’re enjoying the benefits of one of our garden offices with bi-fold doors.

Alternatively, add a rug to help to ‘zone’ an area within your garden office, such as a seating space or workspace.
